Disney has officially decided to bring back the animated comedy series "Phineas and Ferb" for 40 new episodes.

The show's original creator, Dan Povenmire, will be back in charge of the new episodes.

Povenmire has expressed excitement about diving back into the show for both old and new fans.

Disney Branded Television will produce new episodes for Disney Channel, Disney+, Disney Junior, and Disney XD.

Since 2007, the show has aired 129 episodes across four seasons, multiple specials, and two movies.

Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis lauded Povenmire's ability to write heartfelt and funny stories.

Meredith Roberts, Executive Vice President of Animation, praised Povenmire's storytelling and the show's creative team.

Povenmire's live-action development deal and Hamster & Gretel's second season were also ordered.

It is not yet confirmed if original co-creator Jeff "Swampy" Marsh will be returning for the new episodes.
