Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin is recovering in the hospital after collapsing during a game on January 2, 2023.

Hamlin was attached to a breathing tube and watching the Bills play the New England Patriots on January 8 from his hospital bed.

On January 7, he broke his social media silence to thank people for their support.

After Hamlin collapsed on January 2, the NFL suspended the game and rushed him to the hospital.

Commissioner Roger Goodell said suspending the game was "difficult, but necessary."

Hamlin's doctors and medical team have said that he is making steady progress and is able to communicate by writing.

They also praised the quick actions of the Bills medical staff and the physicians who were on the field.

Hamlin was asked who won the game and was told that he "won at the game of life."

He is reportedly responding and moving his hands and feet.
