After Lisa Marie Presley's death on January 12, Austin Butler said his heart is "completely shattered" and that he will always cherish his time with her.

The two of them developed a close friendship after working together in a movie that was released in 2022.

Austin recently shared that when he first met Lisa Marie, she hugged him with tears in her eyes and they talked for hours in Elvis' bedroom.

Lisa Marie praised Austin's portrayal of her father, saying he "channelled and embodied" Elvis' heart and soul beautifully and deserved an Oscar.

She also stated that Austin gave his all to research and prepare for the role, and that he honoured Elvis in every way possible.

Lisa Marie and her mother, Priscilla, attended the Golden Globes with Austin on January 10th, two days before her death. Austin won Best Actor in a Drama.

Austin said he loved the Presley family forever in his acceptance speech.

Two days later, Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest and later passed away.

Lisa Marie is survived by her children Riley Keough, Harper, and Finley, and her son Benjamin passed away by suicide in July 2020.
